Saad's Blog

This is my first entry into the world of food blogging. Do I know anything about food? No. Am I known for being someone with good food tastes and recommendations? Quite the contrary. Writing short memos on the food I ate, the context surrounding it, the people I was with would be a good way to document what happened and maybe, this exercise will lead to something cool in the future? Let's get to the food now, prologue over.

The Company:

  1. Muid
  2. Hadi

The Context:

Our Order:

Main

  1. Chicken Roast (Chest Piece)
  2. Seekh Kebab x2 (I think it was chicken?)
  3. Poorian (many)

Side

  1. Poodina Raita
  2. Imli ki chatni (meethi)
  3. Lemonade

[Note to self: I'll get into the habit of taking pictures of what I eat so that i can just show it. Also remember the price and menu description]

Review

When you're tired and have physically exerted, anything can taste good. However, I believe that if you gave me this food on a regular day with me at a satisfied level of hunger, I would still thoroughly enjoy it. The kebab was soft, yummy and what I would describe as 'convenient'. You must me thinking 'convenient???'. Yeah. I value functionality of food highly and this seekh kebab is described as so for two reasons:

  1. Imagine a Tasbeeh, see how each bead is sectioned off and you can easily pick one off? This seekh kebab had ridges and troughs built into it. It wasn't one solid log that you had to tear apart. It had sections that could easily be torn apart into your luqma.
  2. It was just so soft and it could easily be torn. Even if this was designed as a log seekh kebab, I bet it would have been easy to break apart too. The roast (It might be a broast, I don't really understand the difference yet) was great as well. However, I felt that it was spicer than I would have liked. To red apple's credit, the two condiments (raita & Imli chutney) were a great compliment to both the seekh kebabs and the chicken and helped neutralize the spice factor. As a drink I ordered a lemonade, basically a lemon soda without the soda in their dictionary. It was a 3/5 in terms of the refreshment factor and taste. An ideal lemonade travels straight to your brain and fills it with hydration. That immediate boost of freshness is a feeling that I often seek in drinks. Refreshment Capability is a trait I value highly in drinks.

Final Verdict - 4.2/5

It was a great meal, good protein, the side parties such as the poorian, chutney & raita really played a role to glue the whole meal together into one cohesive unit. I would recommend this place to anyone seeking a good barbeque and desi fast food.

P.S. I have never read a food blog and neither do I know what are the typical contents of it. P.S. I should also mention what the environment & ambiance was like P.S. My review rating will be further tuned in subsequent entries.
